Composite Technology Corporation (“CTC”),  (OTCBB: CPTC) headquartered in Irvine, California, is one of America’s preeminent composite engineering, design, and product development companies. The organization is comprised of management, engineering, and production teams, headed and staffed by renowned experts in their respective fields. The Company’s combined strengths of experience, aptitude and expertise, coupled by their enthusiasm in developing leading edge technologies, is enabling the rapid deployment of new products and processes designed to provide “solutions for the world’s power grid.” CTC Headquarters 2026 McGaw Avenue Irvine, California

Follow on products to be introduced soon include innovative composite lattice towers and poles for electrical support structures. They will initially feature light-weight, high-stiffness, high-strength, non-conductive, custom color, durable pole designs in lengths of 45, 60, 75, and 90 feet.

CTC has designed, engineered, and tested a new generation power cable that is comprised of a light-weight composite core wrapped with
high-performance trapezoidal shaped aluminum wires. The new core allows for up to 30% more conductive aluminum to be wrapped
within the same outside diameter as that of a conventional steel core cable. The end product is of similar weight to conventional ACSR
cable, which enables the utilization of existing structures, without modifications. The new cable is known as ACCC (Aluminum Conductor
Composite Core)
has the ability to carry twice the current of a conventional ACSR steel reinforced cable.

Advantages of ACCC Cable

  • 2x ampacity of conventional ACSR
  • Design incorporates more aluminum for greater conductivity
  • Uses higher purity aluminum for improved conductivity
  • Has similar weight, diameter, and tension to ACSR
  • Virtually elinimates the problem of sag
  • Can be operated at higher temperatures (up to 200c)
  • Can reduce project costs with greater spans
  • Uses modified standard crimping hardware
  • Easily replaces conventional ACSR
  • Higher efficiency helps decrease generation costs
  • Utilization can help meet emission initiatives
  • Eliminates steel core which reduces EMF
  • Eliminates galvanic core corrosion
  • Standard installation procedures can be used

Our enhanced electrical performance can now be demonstrated through the CTC online modeler. This illustrates the differences in line loses and revenue capability for both ACCC and ACSR.
